Assemblymember Chris Burdick joined the Assembly in January 2021, having previously served as full-time Supervisor of the Town of Bedford for seven years. He represents the 93rd Assembly District, which includes Bedford, Harrison, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, New Castle, North Castle, North Salem, Pound Ridge, and part of White Plains. In the Assembly, Chris sits on the Correction, Environmental Conservation, Housing, People with Disabilities, and Veterans' Affairs Committees. He also serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities, where he has focused on legislation to remove barriers to employment. A champion for environmental issues, Chris was Vice Chairman of Sustainable Westchester and former Co-Chair, where he was instrumental in launching the first community aggregation program in New York State. He was on the Executive Committee of the East of Hudson Watershed Corporation; Vice President of the Northern Westchester Watershed Committee; and chaired the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Energy Improvement Corporation.
Chris earned his B.A. in Economics and History from the University of California at Berkeley; his master’s in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies; and his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall Law School. He and his wife Illyria have been married for 37 years. They have three adult children and two adorable granddaughters.
