State Representative Debbie Sarinana represents HD 21 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Debbie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from New Mexico State University, her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education-Mathematics from the University of New Mexico and, is a National Board Certified Teacher of Mathematics.
Debbie was elected to the New Mexico House of Representatives in 2016. Debbie currently serves as Vice-Chair of the House Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Committee and a member of Appropriations & Finance Committee. She is Chairwomen of Science, Technology & Telecommunications Interim Committee.
Debbie was a former computer programmer at White Sands Missile Range, NM, and US Army Yuma Proving Ground, AZ and was also a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Debbie recently retired after teaching mathematics for 20 years with Albuquerque Public Schools. Debbie is the Co-Chair of the National Leadership Council of Elected Officials to Protect America (EOPA). EOPA has just established EOPA-NM to work on challenges in NM with water and climate change.
Outside of her legislative duties, Debbie spends time traveling to visit her three adult children and four grandchildren.
