Sen. Jeff Irwin serves as Michigan State Senator for the 18th District where he lives with his wife, Kathryn, and their two children, Sylvia and Mackinac.
Prior to his time as State Senator, Irwin served as Washtenaw County Commissioner for 11 years where he addressed affordable housing, secured health insurance for uninsured workers, and protected over 2,000 acres of natural areas.
This decade of activism and public service prepared him for his next 6 years as Michigan State Representative during which he led the charge to protect drinking water from toxic chemicals, funded education, protected our environment from polluters, and created jobs. Looking to the future, Senator Irwin will continue fighting for policies that improve and protect a higher quality of life for all Michiganders.
