Representative Emerson was born in Eau Claire and after Graduating Eau Claire Memorial High School went on to study biotechnology at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. She was elected to represent the 91st State Assembly District in 2018.
Representative Emerson became a staunch anti-human trafficking advocate in her adult life, leading to her involvement in many community organizations. She has been a member of groups such as Wisconsin Human Trafficking Advisory Council, Wisconsin Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force, Wisconsin Parent Teacher Association, and more.
Representative Emerson is currently a member of the Governor’s Council of Migrant Labor, Wisconsin Anti-Human Trafficking Consortium, and board member for the Wisconsin Women’s Council. She serves on the Assembly Committees for Colleges and Universities, Rural Development, Criminal Justice and Public Safety, and Housing and Real Estate.
