John Weber began working on grassroots environmental campaigns in the early 1990's as a door to door canvasser working to stop trash incinerators and pesticide use. He continued this type of work with NJ Citizen Action working to stop lead poisoning throughout NJ. In 2005 he began working for the Surfrider Foundation and he continues that work today. John ran for and gained a seat on his local Bradley Beach, NJ Borough Council in 2016 and won reelection in 2019. He hopes to use his elected office to push for solutions to the climate crisis.
