State Representative Julie Brixie is serving her second term in the Michigan House of Representatives. Before being elected to the state legislature, Brixie earned a master's degree in crop and soil sciences with a specialization in environmental toxicology. Afterwards, she ran a mobile laboratory, conducting investigations and cleanups of contaminated sites in Michigan. After she served on the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission in 1998 and 1999, Brixie was elected to the Meridian Township Board, where she served her community for 18 years – two terms as a Trustee and three terms as Treasurer. Rep. Brixie currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Oversight Committee, as well as a member of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules and the Committee on Tax Policy.
Rep. Brixie is committed to improving Michigan communities by fighting for policies that protect our environment, ensure equitable access to education opportunities, and fix Michigan’s crumbling roads and infrastructure.
