In October 2022, Miguel Martinez was appointed to serve as the Council Member for Ward 3. Known for its rich history, Ward 3 represents a variety of services and constituents including the Wells Avenue Business District, the CARES campus, Greater Nevada Field, and a large segment of the Truckee River. It also consists of two of the three City of Reno Parks facilities including the Teglia’s Paradise Park Activity Center and the Neil Road Recreation Center.
Miguel has spent the last seven years working with Truckee Meadows Community College where he was focused on improving education attainment gaps, expanding accessibility to higher education, and developing a stronger sense of community.
A Reno native, Miguel earned an Associate of Arts from Truckee Meadows Community College, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from Virginia Tech. In his spare time, Miguel enjoys spending time with his wife and two loving young girls, golfing, and partaking in outdoor activities.
With a strong track record of administration and coordination, Miguel brings a unique lens to the issues facing Reno constituents and looks forward to working with the citizens of Ward 3 to provide access to City processes and programs for all residents.
