Mira Prinz-Arey proudly serves as the Councilwoman for Ward B, representing the West Side of Jersey City. She received her BA in Humanities, cum laude, with dual concentrations in Art History and History from New York University. She has over 20 years experience in sales, marketing, event planning, and fundraising in the fine arts, music, and non-profit industries.
As a long time West Side activist she has a proven track record of dedication to her community. She serves as the Chair of the Open Space Trust Fund and the Shade Tree Committee, and serves as a member of the Bayfront Advisory Board, the Inclusionary Zoning, Rent Control, and Police Policy and Procedures Review committees and is a board member of the McGinley Square and West Side Partnership SIDS. She co-founded "West Side Arts & Music" with Gaye Dunstan in 2014. They curate and host JC Fridays events four times a year, showcasing (in their opinion) the best local artists and musicians. Mira and Gaye have expanded the music series and produces "Lincoln Park Live: Music at the Fountain”, a summer music series at the Fountain in Lincoln Park.
She is a trustee of Friends of Audubon Park, a group that works with residents to clean and beautify the park. The group hosts an annual Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Parade, and Christmas Tree Lighting.
