Supervisor Shawn Rolland is proud to represent neighborhoods in Wauwatosa and Milwaukee's Washington Heights as 6th District Supervisor. He was elected in April 2020. While on the board, he has served as chairman of the Health Equity, Human Needs & Strategic Planning Committee and the Economic and Community Development Committee – and as co-chair of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Task Force. As a County Board Supervisor, Shawn has sought to support impactful, socially-progressive, fiscally-responsible, data-driven decisions that advance the county’s strategic plan – supporting initiatives to create more affordable housing and eliminate residents’ medical debt. He’s also proactively advocated for capital improvements for District 6 parks and parkway roads as part of the budget process.
In addition to his County Board duties, Shawn is an active parent and supporter of Wisconsin’s public schools. He served on the Wauwatosa School Board from 2016 to 2022, where he was elected the body’s president, vice-president, legislative advocacy committee co-chair, and Wisconsin Association of School Boards Assembly Delegate. Alongside fellow parents and neighbors, Shawn co-founded Support Our Schools Wauwatosa, “a parent-powered, nonpartisan, grassroots non-profit that believes in and advocates for public education in Wauwatosa and throughout Wisconsin.” He’s also an active volunteer at his kids’ Wauwatosa schools: Wauwatosa East High School and Longfellow Middle School.
After attending Franklin High School, Shawn graduated with honors from Drake University in 2004 with a degree in public relations. As a senior communications strategist, he’s represented a variety nonprofits, governmental organizations and private sector businesses.
Shawn, his wife Elizabeth, and children Ethan, Sarah and Lucy are all proud residents of Wauwatosa.
