Thaddeus J. Kobylarz

Thad Kobylarz has lived in Chatham Borough since 2008, and has served as Mayor since 2020. Prior to that, he was a Council Member for two years. As Mayor, Thad serves on the Planning Board and the Library Board of Trustees. He has also chaired, on a revolving basis, the Madison-Chatham Joint Meeting, and has taken a keen interest (as an ex officio member) in the activities of the Borough’s Economic Development Advisory Committee, Environmental Commission, and Shade Tree Commission, among others. Professionally, Thad works as a consultant, advising firms on matters pertaining to the intersection of intellectual property and finance. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering time with one son’s organized basketball activities, and a second son’s scouting activities.
